MQTT is a lightweight messaging protocol for sensors and mobile devices using publish and subscribe. The implementation of MQTT over websockets makes it possible to have also web browsers as MQTT clients. This post explains how this works and determines the differences between a native websockets implementation of a broker and the usage of a separate web server.
