Neal Ford discusses the benefits of programming with JRuby and also explains why he believes Java developers will continue to migrate to languages other than Java, even as many continue to call the Java platform home. This is an essential, engaging discussion for those interested in learning more about JRuby and the trend toward what Ford calls polyglot programming.

well worth listening to, but I have a few criticisms:
* Apparently, 'ruby mix-ins allow polymorphism without inheritance'. That doesn't sound right.
* writing Java code without an IDE is not 'so painful' thanks (unless you call emacs an IDE)
* the interviewer doesn't exactly scrutinise every point made
* Scala is conspicuously not mentioned

I think Neal did mention Scala along with Jaskell when he mentioned functional languages, though he didn't elaborate much on either
