Well, I was planning on coming right out and give a review of NetBeans Ruby. The idea was to list the things in the tool that I really like (such as its performance) and then complain for a while about all the things that I found annoying. However, Tor Norbye, lead for the NetBeans Ruby team, nipped that idea in the bud. He contacted me shortly after my recently newletter column in which I mentioned that I hadn't been impressed with NetBeans Ruby several months ago. He's spent quite a bit of time working with me to either resolve the issues I've been experiencing (he's committed a couple fixes), or explain what I'm doing wrong and thus why I'm seeing anomalous results. So, a lot of the stuff that I was going to complain about I can no longer be upset about, since it's either fixed or in my head the whole time. :-) So, attempt at impartial NetBeans Ruby review take one...
