Hahahaha....FAIL.

I think actually that my blog said it rather well. Ruby is inferior language by design and by features to Java – plain and simple. It is just sub-par engineering comparing to Java. I know thing or two about language design from my old days and know first-hand how hard it is to come up with a decent all-around language and runtime system around it with so many pre-requisites. It literally happens once in generation. Last was the C/C++ era.

Only two languages in the last decade have accomplished it to any significant degree for general purpose programming languages: Java and C#. Everything else is pretty much an academic noise (CS students designing new languages on assignments by 100s every year).

I agree about features but not design. Ruby has nothing like the many many mature libraries or IDE's that Java has, but the JVM is not Java, and since you can run Ruby on the JVM if you want to, it has access to all of those libraries as well. I have no problem saying the platform and runtime is much better than MRI, but the Java language is nothing near the Ruby language in terms of power, flexibility, code compactness, expressiveness...

Inferior. Without backing your statements up or even one example. Certainly Ruby is not perfect. No language is. If you don't like a programming language, thats cool, don't use it and please don't waste my time embarrassing yourself expressing your opinion with empty arguments.

What part of "Well, that’s my opinion." did you miss? I really don't have time or desire to argue language design in blog's comments... I'm sure you would - for you a shiny new toy is so simple to get attracted to :)
