Note: This is not an elitist rant. It used to be that I would go off into a blistering rant whenever I heard anyone talking about offshore development. The mere idea that a group of people half way around the world could not only do a better job than me, but do it cheaper, was sheer nonsense. Not only that, I found the idea offensive, repulsive, repugnant, disgusting, and really just plain obtuse. Not so much anymore.

so your point is... there are crap coders everywhere, why not just use outsourced crap instead of local crap

"Now, before I leave, I will say that I fervently believe that me and three other hand-picked devs would wipe the floor with your 15-man offshore team. I have no doubts about that at all. Hands down. It wouldn’t even really be a contest as much as it would be a brutal beating."
So, a .NET developer with 3 years of experience (according to LinkedIn) thinks he is so much better than the rest of the world. What a great article.

that's a very nieve response.
years of experience cannot be used to determine a quality developer...

i think a cruitial point was missed. and that is alot of development work/projects only suceeds because of a "hero" or "champion" dev amongst the ranks of crap coders.
how a hero dev is garenteed (or even given motivation to exist) within a offshored dev team, is beyond me...
