What about TCK issues? It will be solved some day? I agree with ASF position.
That is pretty in your face...give ASF the finger at every time...and then "hope they will reconsider their decision"....I guess typical corporate-speak...
I fully support the ASF on the TCK licensing issues. Oracle has been a poor steward of the OSS they acquired along with Sun. I do wish that the EC had more spine and stood up to Oracle. Unfortunately it is not the case. Only Apache and a few individuals had the courage to do the right thing.
All you guys voting this down should realize that a vote isn't about whether you approve of Oracle's position, but rather whether this is something of sufficient interest for a place on DZone's front page. It obviously IS! Personally, I find Oracle's position to be dubious, at best, but this is still a significant link.
I just voted down to express my feeling, the link itself is completely valid.
Rick, you are right. I guess some of us just can't control their angst for Oracle. :)
Goodbye ASF, Oracle paid $$ for Java and it owns it.
Ruby seems good.
I do actionscript.
I think Oracle has its point. As average Java developers, we care about more of the Java formality than corporate politics.
Oracle is putting in its own dollars fueling revolutions,
revolutions like Vala , Scala, Fantom and Android
