Oracle Staking Claim in Open-Source 'R' Language
Oracle Advanced Analytics consists of Oracle R Enterprise, along with the vendor's existing Data Mining module. It's available as an Oracle 11g database option and costs US$23,000 per processor license.

SAS is an amazing and expensive stats system ( I mean system, with just about everything) but it's as closed as Fort Knox.
Maybe it's time to reconsider SAS.
