"In a typical Maven application, these can reside in src/main/resources, but the wherever they are, they will need to be available on the classpath when the application is deployed."
A problem created by Spring solved with a solution provided by Spring.

How is that a Spring problem? Or even a problem? I was saying that you can pretty much place these files wherever you want as long as they are accessible, so I don't follow what you mean.
