For the last few months, I’ve been writing an app that gathers social network data in real time and does some calculations to it before sending it on to a user’s browser. I decided to use Server-Sent Events (SSEs, aka EventSource), and wanted to share my learnings.

I get a big red X from McAffee SiteAdvisor, and text that reads: "Whoa! Are you sure you want to go there? http://www.eriwen.com/javascript/server-sent-event... may be risky to visit. Why were you redirected to this page? When we visited this site, we found it exhibited one or more risky behaviors."

Thanks for the heads up. If I had to guess, SiteAdvisor doesn't like the fact that I load the sharing widgets (some of which are iframes) onscroll.
