PuTTY is great for many things, though if you are really doing alot of Admin work from a SSH client; you may want to try the Poderosa (Open Source) tabbed and split screen viewing.

cool thing about Poderosa is that it can embed Cygwin in one of the tab. One annoying thing I find that its handling of console buffer isn't graceful, after a lot of output, the console starting to get messed up, scrollup will not show you what just output but what was there many pages ago. I set the output buffer memory to the max (99999) but that only prolong the problem, not fixing it.

Yeah it does have some things that behave different, it took me awhile to get used the the "Alt C" and "Alt V" versus the normal "Ctrl C" for copy and paste; though I love how I can move around my different windows to my preference. I hope maybe someone will keep this Open Source product going with more updates, that would be really cool.

Another great tabbed PuTTY alternative is PuTTY Connection Manager: http://puttycm.free.fr/
