RIA (the acronym) has jumped the shark. I find that I can no longer use RIA to describe anything anymore. The definition has been watered down and twisted to the point that nearly any application can be called RIA.

Few points have to be said here though!!
*Service-oriented architecture (SOA), rich Internet applications (RIA), open source software (OSS) and Web 2.0 are all
hot and relevant topics on their own. When combined, however, they really become powerful.
*The RIA, SOA and OSS relationship to Web 2.0 is strong. Web 2.0 represents a rebirth of the Internet where more
powerful applications exist. RIA enables these applications by providing a transactional and dynamic user experience.
====================================
All these are what we refer generically at RIA.
just a thought.

RIA was a term created by Microsoft to counter the 'Fat Client' labeling. I guess, today not even Microsoft marketing uses it any more.

Site seems to be down. Hopefully they were not using a 'web application' to host.
