Different people may have different reasons; I'm down-voting because:
* It doesn't link to the actual article; it links to your *link* to the blog posting. That's bad unless you have some significant additional value to add.
* the calendar itself doesn't look useful at all -- I checked it out in Firefox on Windows XP (i.e., not uncommon!) and it doesn't render properly.

There are JS Calendars that work AND look ok out there... I recommend people seek them out and use them instead
