Over the last few posts we have been looking at the steps in building and deploying a Google App Engine application, it might be a good time to compare App Engine with Amazon EC2 which is a comparable service. Amazon EC2 the early entrant into cloud computing has been the leading player in this field and in this post we will compare how the two platforms stack up. A common question that keeps coming up from our blog readers is when do we use EC2 and when do we use the App Engine. This post should address that question at a basic level.
