It's a personality trait, sure, but if it's holding you back or getting you passed over, ignored or stomped on, you'd best figure out a way to get out of that shell for certain things. I'm an introvert, but in a meeting, I can be hot fire. I recognized that I had to do that and now I can. Take control of your life and the things in it, don't make Psych 101 excuses for why you can't do or be this or that.
