Due to work we are doing in GridGain we routinely use all three major Java IDEs: Eclipse, IDEA and NetBeans. I work primarily on Ubuntu 8.04 as my main workstation. It is a pretty docile setup with two monitors, NVidia video card, Compiz with moderate settings and no kernel modifications what-so-ever.

It's only a milestone release, not a final. It's going to have bugs, what did you expect? It's obviously s short-term problem, so just turn off Compiz or use the stable 7.0 version. Sheesh.

Well, how about it's looking like GTK 1.0 crap on Linux? Yeas, in some skins it's probably better - but in default Ubuntu 8.04 it is a pain to look at it. And it had Compiz related issues from version 7 onward. They really treat Liunx version as a secondary concern (probably developing themselves on Windows).
Just my 2 cents,
Nikita Ivanov.
