The patterns approach is based on the observation that a relatively small set of task organizations and their relationships to data recur frequently in parallel algorithms. In this 12-part series, I'll share how understanding and using these patterns when appropriate can lead to clearer and more maintainable parallel programs.

Hey there, I’m an Intel employee and part of the team that is enabling throughput computing for the masses. I really feel the understanding the core patterns behind many algorithms is a key skill to have. This is an excellent article and highly recommend people to study this new area further.
