PremiumSoft just announced its first public release of Navicat for Oracle Full Versions supporting Mac OS X and Windows. It’s a tool for Oracle administration that allows users to create, edit databases, import/ export data, build report, create/run SQL queries, migrate databases and create reports.

I've been using Navicat MySQL client for 3 years. I like its highly interactive GUI interface. Only the Data/Structure Synchronization and Visual Query Builder features already worth the price. I'm glad to know that they've got an Oracle version for it. I've just downloaded the tool and will definitely give it a try.

I'm working with oracle databases, and I think TOAD is a crap, but so far the best tool on the market, so I was interested in this article.
I have installed Navicat for oracle, and it was surprise, a bad one.
Don't get me wrong, Navicat is nice tool, but it's really unfair to even think it can replace TOAD.
I have tried it for a very short time, so maybe I'm wrong, but as far as I can see, there is no support for Oracle packages. That put Navicat out of everyday use, at least for Oracle database.

Hi, I found that Navicat supports Oracle packages under the button "others" in main screen. Did you mean that? Why you said Toad is a crap?

I just reviewed it. It has a lite version which is free of charge. As I need more advanced features such as Visual Query Builder, Data Synchronization and Report Builder, this free version is not my cup of tea. I found it supports Oracle packages for db admin. However, its query editor feature seems not fully supporting it at the moment. Please correct me if I'm wrong. For personal use to develop my own application, its non-commercial version would be my choice. I love TOAD but couldn't afford to buy its license.

I think this tool is very useful. It's intuitive and I didn't read the user manual. The interface is self-explained. I think it's alternative to SQL Developer or Toad. I'd love to have more alternatives and I can choose an Oracle management tool for my project. Thanks
