A commenter reminds me on Groovy (It was mentioned as part of Grails). His comment makes me curious on what’s the latest on Groovy and how it is stacking up to Jython.
There are repeated claims in the post that Groovy is close to Ruby but there aren't specific examples to substantiate the claims besides the one in the Groovy Wiki. One example does not an argument make. As they are both dynamically typed languages(as J/Python is as well) there are some similar concepts but it is a stretch to call them similar.
I love it as well. I found not one piece of information that was useful... the JAVA bit made me laugh.
Tip: if you wanna write a blog post: make damn sure you know what you're saying!

I added a couple of examples on how Groovy and Ruby are similar syntactically.
IMHO, It is good that Groovy and Ruby are similar since Ruby is a very easy language to learn.
