This email has amazing detail about Google's plans for "Dash", the language that they hope will usurp JavaScript.

I say throw the WHOLE thing out, and start over... Building full featured web apps inside a 'web browser' has always been an ugly kludge. Please, can we just have something else specifically for web apps that is NOT a web browser? i.e, no back/forward/reload button, no bookmarks, no html, no css, etc. Some sort of 'web shell' specifically for applications, is what I envision.

How frustrating and annoying... another language. Why don't they just implement EcmaScript 4?

http://www.ecma-international.org/activities/Languages/Language%20overview.pdf

Want to kill Flash? Not that I necessarily want that to happen, but this would be another nail in its coffin... every Flash developer already knows EcmaScript 4, as its only implementation was ActionScript 3. It would make the transition of developers and the porting of Flash libraries to HTML5 far simpler.

Not to mention, it's a bloody great language to work with -- fixes all of the issues with JavaScript, and adds all of the features that JavaScript lacks, but keeps most of what people love about JavaScript too!

But no... let's go make "Dash" or "Dart" or something nobody is going to care about any more than they do Go.

people use scripts since they cant write real deal programs,

why worry about armatures , we need to talk about hard core programmers that shoulder the whole industry.

all they have to do is create a javascript compiler for NaCL,

so write the same javascript but execute it in native mode.

but then i dont own google, my time will come after decades, so meanwhile bear the abuse of the apes all around us.

whomever is voting me down will remember me, when the world around her changes and she will be no longer relevant in industry
