Skype (the famous Voice-Over-IP communication program) will be release under an open source license. The story started when Olivier FAURAX sent an email requesting Mandriva version of Skype. After a little chat with customer support , he got this replay β We understand that many users complain that there is no Mandriva version at present.

Misleading title; the article says that Skype will "be part of the open source community".
This will at most mean an open source client which uses a closed library for communication/encription; better than what we have now (and thus welcome news), but far from "skype goes open source".
