I think your referring to egalitarianism, which has no place in the creation of anything.
Its not the role of software engineers to convince the customer, or the stakeholders of a correct solution.
Its their role to implement the solution while the salespeople bullshit the customer into believing it.
There is no perfect solution. Only what the customer thinks they want, and what gets delivered....and lawyers.
