Admittedly, the most sensible choice for developing web content is a desktop PC with one or a pair of large, high-resolution screens. But in some situations you might need a laptop, or alternatively, you might use a laptop as your primary computer and hook up an extra screen. In that case, you would probably go with a laptop with a decent dedicated graphics card. Regardless, it’s primarily the larger type of desktop replacement laptops that attract the developer’s attention. The list below is a few examples of some laptops that stand out in this department, be it for pure performance or good value for money.

Wow. Those things are all way too big for me. A Macbook is just the right size, though a tad heavy. I have high hopes that Apple will bring down the weight in the next generation of Macbook. 13", maybe 2-3 lbs would be ideal.
For the record, I'd never buy a Dell again. My first Dell notebook needed to have its hard drive replaced 5 times, amongst a few other components. The next one needed the hard drive replaced twice. All of my Macs so far have had little to no issues.

@james: I've owned a Dell Inspiron for 6 years with no problems, but then again both of our experiences are anecdotal. :-) I think a Consumer Reports article on laptop repairs put Dell in the upper 1/3 of the manfacturers in terms of frequency of repairs. It wasn't at the top, but, I *think* it was in the top 1/3.......
Earlier this year I got a 17" 19x12 Macbook Pro. You probably wouldn't like it. It's a big boy! I love it however. Mine's bigger than your's, nyaahnyaah...

Suprising choices (except for the MacBook pro). I'd never recommend a Dell. My (and others plentifully reported) experience with build quality & service taints their reputation significantly.
What about IBM's T61 or HP's 8510w/8710w. These are what I'm looking at for my next purchase. Real strong & high spec.
Apple, hmmm, still not sure about the lifetime of Apple products. I've got a HP, that's lasted four years now, and still going strong.
