Visual information is not structured as computers would like. Processing visual data in code effectively requires a simply measurable hook -- the T-shape described by (binocular) eyes/nose/mouth, for instance, or the shadow patterns inside eye sockets. But re. visual information from sporting events, Luis Sobrecueva realized something cool: most games are played on a grass surface; so items moving on the surface (ball, people) can be detected as less-green fields. so he tossed together a cool Canvas with some sweet JavaScript that looks for the ungreen, and stitches the ungreen together...
