good stuff.. mainly I have to agree, as a language Java is moving too slow. The oracle buyout probably didn't help that. Also the increasing complexity of java related frameworks vs others. Although there have been small battles won in all these areas, not enough to keep developers around. How many times do we hear , I do Java at work, and ruby/python -- even c# for side projects.

The problem is the new feature that will allow every tom dick and harry to create cheap syntax according to their whims and fancies. Thats really sad. This is all due to the Scala, bloody scala effect.
