Although I am not a big fan of Microsoft, I do heavily rely on their OS for my daily living as a software engineer. We develop our enterprise Java applications on Windows XP and then deploy to Red Hat Linux AS.
I still hold on to hope that one day the Linux desktop (and installation) will be so great that it will finally gain traction within corporate America.
Our Red Hat Linux AS runs for months at a time without having to reboot. The only time we reboot is because of application changes and not because of the Linux OS.
I can't imagine the tough time the QA folks have at Microsoft trying to test these huge operating systems before they are released. And since the release have many bugs, I wonder how many are caught by Microsoft Quality Assurance.
