Yuki Sonoda has announced the release of Ruby 1.9.0-3, a snapshot release of the still-experimental Ruby 1.9 (wait until Christmas for the production ready 1.9.1). Minor releases aren't typically covered here on Ruby Inside, but the dropping of support for nine platforms in Ruby 1.9 might be of significant interest to some

Completely useless...the 9 platforms are used by probably three people world wide:
FTA:
Ruby 1.9 no longer supports the following platforms because they have no active maintainer.
* BeOS
* WinCE
* OS/2
* Interix
* bcc32
* Classic MacOS
* djgpp
* VMS
* human68k

Fewer user groups are likely to get impacted by this than the number of dzone readers of this post.

Title is kind of propagandist.

For it to be propaganda would require that the author have a biased viewpoint one way or the other. I seriously doubt the poster is some VMS maniac attempting to guilt-trip Ruby developers into supporting it.

"Useless?" "Propagandist?" The title's accurate, and the article discusses what the title says it discusses.

"Ruby 1.9 Drops Support For 9 Useless Platforms" will be much more accurate.

I don't see the problem with the title; it's accurate and to the point.
Though I will say that I've never even heard of four of those on the list .... :-/
