Steven Devijver shows you how to run Linux on a Windows machine using free VMWare tools. Steven shows you first how to download and install VMWare, then how to run a Knoppix Live CD (though any Linux Live CD would work just fine) to get to a working Linux desktop inside Windows.

Apologies for the '500 Internal Error' message, our server threw a fit just as I posted this link. Rest assured that the site is running just fine! Ian (one of the founders of ShowMeDo).

Phew! Thanks to the great staff at DZone, they have regenerated the thumbnail and now it shows that our site is working fine. Many thanks for the quick response, my support email only went to you a short time back. Cheers!

No problem... there's a number of us that monitor the queue and regenerate thumbnails if we see one that isn't displaying... =)

Eh, interesting but not all that informative. It's surprisingly easy to get Linux working within VMware.
