If the postgres people put a fraction of the effort they spend trash talking mysql into building a better database, postgres might have more than a single digit market share.

Mysql == commercial database, just like Oracle, except their business model involves giving away the source code
Postgresql == somebody's science project

Market share != quality.

Admittedly, a common misunderstanding in the IT field...

MySQL is a quality dbms... But Postgres is my favorite.

Dont take me wrong. I like PostgreSQL and use it where it seems appropriate. But author is an idiot. Its not offence. Its a fact.

Vote down for biased and inaccurate information. For instance, MySQL as well as Postgres has it's own enterprise commercial database. This is not a point that should be used in comparison whether positive or negative.
