I've used JSF (Well, MyFaces and Seam... wasn't JSF a specification?) and SpringMVC extensively and sure, there are good things in both of them. I really think they don't belong in the upper regions of 'best java web frameworks' though!

Hmm I do not agree with the autor. Do You really think Wicked is better then Tapestry , which is not even on the list? I like spring but spring MVC is not so nice.

Bad article. One good thing I found from the comments is this proof that anyone who uses Google trends or job-site keyword trends to "prove" that one framework is better is just wasting our time: http://icoloma.blogspot.com/2007/07/stupid-conclusions-using-google-trends.html
Please don't encourage people using these kinds of bogus arguments. What IMHO is needed is technical comparisons just like this one:
