In the vein of discovering the Terracotta killer app (more accurately, "killer apps," since there's a universe of possible things to do with Terracotta), we've been poring over our users' architectures and pulling out design patterns that people are finding success with. My current goal is to codify them into a set of generic design patterns that others can use as a starting point for using Terracotta in their own applications.

This blog post points ultimately to here: http://www.smartfoxserver.com/clustering/ which contains the paper. It's a fantastic read (not just because of its Terracotta use, but actually, because it highlights and illustrates a number of distributed design patterns)
