Transaction in Spring? Just use Standard Java EE. You get everything out of the box. No proprietary 3rd party framework needed.

It's a very legitimate alternative to standard Java EE. Also keep in mind that going up with a fully fledged Enterprise container may not be an option sometimes.

That's why there is a Standard lightweight container, a.k.a. Java EE 6 Web Profile. Spring? Yagni!
