It doesn’t matter whether you use XML or Java config, a Spring scope is roughly like a Map> structure.

I've complete dozens of projects in Spring and this has never mattered. Considering market penetration of Guice is non-existant and it is more or less obsoleted by CDI, I am not sure I would recommend using Guice on new projects to begin with.

First of all, comparing Spring with Guice is like comparing an airplane to a bicycle !
Second, what you are saying is a known fact in Spring and although could cause issues but very unlikely to be a real headache in any project...
