Utilize Java's Swing library to get GUI capabilities for your Ruby application. Monkeybars takes Swing at puts a nice high level declarative syntax on top. So while you're using Java it doesn't really look like Java and many things that are complicated in Swing become pretty easy in Monkeybars.
