This book delves deeply into test-driven development (TDD) and acceptance test-driven development, two ideas that could revolutionize how software is written. These two approaches to development share a basic idea: that the intent and use of software is better specified by specific tests than by normal-language words. Put that way, hardly anyone would disagree, but that's not how software is typically developed. All too often, developers labor from vague specifications or descriptions that would be perfectly clear with a domain knowledge they do not have.
