One of the most beneficial approaches that you can take in software development is to follow a test driven development approach. While we all understand why it's a good thing, it's often left slide in favour of adding functionality to reach deadline, or just to "save" time. One of the challenges for test driven development is making sure that your code is testable. Miško Hevery wrote an article about this very topic a while back. I thought he would be the ideal person to talk to me about testable code and test driven development.
