A sane voice? He's not even presenting an argument. He's just doing a good mimicry of the BOFH style, and throwing in a few comments on global warming along the way... it's hard to even know how seriously to take that, when the rest is obviously in jest from a not-very-sympathetic narrator.
I'm not tackling the global warming & resource consumption issue in this post, though you haven't read much if you think we'll be just fine as-is... even if global warming is completely unrelated to human activity, we're still screwing ourselves over royally. If the rest of the world population consumed resources like the US average (and they're working pretty hard on closing the gap), we'd need something like 6 Earths to keep up. In that respect, global warming is a red herring.
Half-hearted apologies for the rant; it's a sore subject.
