The Land of the Global Variables
Today no one uses global variables, right? Ha! We’re too busy arguing about design patterns, first-class functions, and separation of concerns. The reality is, there’s still one programming area rife with global variables, and it shows no sign of reform. I’m speaking about programming within a database - stored procedures, triggers, UDFs, even complex SQL statements.
