I really want to know what it is about programming, or computers in general, that makes people want to grow a beard, have long hair, and dress like a slob. I can say these things without guilt because while I do not have long hair, I do have a beard and I do in fact dress like a slob.

I don't dress like a slob, I do dress comfortably and in nice clothes. A lot of work places don't allow you to look like a slob, nor do they expect you to wear a white shirt and tie either. In my position, sure I don't interact with customers or see daylight for that matter, but I make myself presentable each office day.

I want to think the reason all those guys look the way they do is the same reason some college professors use: because they're so indispensable, they just can.

Oh god, it's me in ten years. Well, maybe thirty. Really makes you feel like a big brotherhood though, eh? "The bearded masses" perhaps...

I don't get how people can be fat and hairy, especially a beard, it must be so uncomfortable in summer. I guess that explains the very casual clothes. And isn't caffeine supposed to be an appetite suppressant? ;)

That member "myth_drannon" is a cunt. Comes in and downgrades articles that are popular just to be a smart arse. Please ban him/her/it.

What is your problem ??? Too much free time stalking how others vote?
I vote for articles that are programming/development related, not humor articles that I can get enough of them on Reddit.

If you don't like to read humor articles why do you click on them in the first place???

They should all wear the official programmer's uniform: blue shirt and khaki pants :-|
