JavaScript is a scripting language and it is mainly used for website development. It is mostly used for client side validation. But over the years, it has become more popular amongst developers. Initially it was referred as LiveScript, which was invented by Netscape, later it renamed to JavaScript.

Con for jQuery: "takes up space on the web server". If you don't have 261kb free disk space you have serious issues. Con for JavaScript: "enables client hacking" ?

CON/JS: " relatively easy to learn", please define relatively. CON/Jquery but it doen't depend on jquery: you can't cache by command the entire jquery framework. the script tag should have a parameter like cache=1, the entire thing is reloaded when the user refresh, with mobile devices in mind.
