Last week, a wild bunch of mad scientists at New York Times Labs opened to the public a tool called Chronicle, allowing graphing the usage of words and phrases in Times reporting. We thought we should give it a try, and after a few random terms and “…that makes sense” nods, we typed in the word “theatre” and got a very interesting result:
