A programmer's view on why your tools are not the most important choice on the path to becoming a good programmer. You don't necessarily have to be a vim/emacs guru to become a good coder.

Nice gaming analogy - once you master the game, the tool you use doesn't matter.

Reminds me of the gamers who make it a point of completing every game with fists as their only weapon.
