Quoting Adobe for the percentage of users with Flash 9 is rather mis-leading, the numbers will be obviously scewed, they're running a business after all...
Saying flash inst 100% proprietary because it uses Mozilla's javascript interpreter is a reach.

adobe is free like Dot Net is free. the sdk is free, and an express edition of the ide. unit testing the GUI, a proper appserver etc and a proper IDE all has enterprise level costs.
