I'm probably not the only person around here wondering what the real facts are in the choice between a 32-bit and 64-bit install for a new Ubuntu system. This article gives specific software performance metrics both ways.

Thanks, I've been wondering about this for a while as well.
I'd heard before that the difference wasn't that big, but I guess I still had hopes :) I'm dissapointed by how small an advantage AMD64 actually is.
