I don't like voting for self-promoting links like this one, but I have to admit the content was quite interesting.

Awww. Self promoting isn't so bad. I mean it's hard enough to get people to actually vote and comment on submissions let alone go out, scour the web, find good material and post it. The way I see it, the author gets one vote by the submission and then it sinks or swims on its own merit in upcoming links. If the article is good it doesn't matter who submitted it, if it isn't well that doesn't matter either in the end ;)

My thought is that if the article isn't good enough for someone else to find and post it, then it doesn't deserve posting. And as a general rule, this is true. We aren't fair judges of our own content, especially when we serve to gain by its promotion. I have made a few exceptions to this rule (this being one of them), but I'm always harsher on articles posted by their author.

Hmmm. It's really cool, but why do they require you to utilize the files on their server? I can see it with other API's where they are housing a data warehouse or some dll's, etc. but this isn't that complex AND it's supposedly open source.
