Yesterday, I had a very interesting blog debate with a guy named Martin Beeby. He was arguing that Silverlight would eventually crush Flex because Adobe is building its community on Flash developers, who are in fact designers.

The basic question is: Who needs fat clients built on proprietary 'platforms' from Microsoft or Adobe?

You forgot the most successful RIA platform in existence today, the one which has about 99% of the market shares today; Ajax...

Well the thing you overlook polterguy is that ease of developing an RIA in Flex or Silverlight. And when's the last time you were able to build something in Ajax and not spend half the rest of the day getting it work in all the needed browsers.
