As online conversations grow we need a way to filter the noise, get to the heart of a subject, and find out what is really going on. We need to identify emerging trends and measure them over time. This new way of searching starts today.

Ceaseoleo, the spiders are still running. While the search engine is a part of the site and our spiders only spider relevant Ruby and Ruby related sites, the biggest concept behind the site are the "What's going on" links. We are parsing hundreds of RSS feeds during the day and updating the site with the latest conversation items in the Ruby world. You can use that as a jumping off point for your search. Essentially, it has eliminated my need to read hundreds of RSS feeds to find out what is going on in the Ruby world.

Everyone - we are doing a major update to whatsupinruby.com to better meet our goal not of a search engine but a place to gather insight into the conversation. I have posted about our upcoming update here: http://rorblog.techcfl.com/2008/04/25/you-talked-we-listened/
