Have you ever wondered where that code snippet that saved the project (again!) came from? It's probably not a question you'd ask yourself when it's resulted in something being fixed or made to run better. But think back - there's probably a few suspicious snippets in your codebase right now.

Related note to bloggers who post significantly-sized code snippets: make your license clear. It's a reminder to yourself to keep an eye on what you post (and if you're allowed to do it, particularly if this is paid coding), it'll help those few visitors who are actively looking for a license, and it will help educate a bit the visitors who believe "if it's online, it's in the public domain" and freely grab code from OSS, etc.. I.e., saying "this code is public domain and free for non-commercial and commercial work" might make them wonder about places where it's not so clearly noted....
