The Italian start up GotThingsDone.com has just released WhoDoes: a free web-based project management software intuitive and easy to use developed with Ruby on Rails. WhoDoes is designed to assist Project Managers and team works in planning and management of different complexity projects, it allows to manage activities quickly and to share real time information and project documentation with all the team members, whether they are in the same office or distributed all over the World.

Looks promising so far. I hope the paid version is something feasible for a small team of < 5, something like $5 a month would be nice and I wouldn't hesitate to sign up. But if they're going the $15 route like every other collab project I'll pass.
