It seems like it's becoming easier and easier these days to find rants from people about why C++ sucks. To see how easy it is, just go to google and type "C++ Sucks" and you'll find tons of blogs, just like this one, albeit with people making the opposite argument as the one I'm going to make. Since there seems to be so many people explaining why C++ sucks, I figured I might as well play devil's advocate and argue why C++ doesn't suck.

The nth defense of C++. Not bad -- it says C++ is not very good for the Web.
Again, the nth list of complaints:
weird and irregular syntax
too many exceptions in the language and meaning: too much overload
useless gadgets
obscure and ad hoc features. and so on.
3 points for C++:
usually fast
if you live a subset of the language, C++ is manageable
finally I begin to believe it is a compact language: a lot done in few lines.

how am I supposed to read gray text on a black background?
unchqua replied ago:
Either press Ctrl-A or disable all CSS styles if your browser/plugin can do that. That's what I always do in such cases.

I DO use several Greasemonkey and Stylish snippets at DZone.com to give more space to actually useful information. I doubt its administration will do anything to make it more readable so do it myself.
