So you have a tech blog, you write your thoughts on why the world sucks, however, your own blog is still showing the default Wordpress theme it came with. How can anyone take you seriously when your own work (your blog) shows no creativity or motivation?

Fortunately I do not find much of this in the Ruby community, maybe it is because we work on Macs and fancy ourselves artists :), but I agree it doesn't show much interest in your own blog when you use the default theme, or in my opinion any downloaded template that hasn't been altered to suit your needs or personality.

voted down for inaccuracy. Just because you have ruby and mac doesn't mean your creative. Causality my friend. Having a Mac only means you had some expendable cash to waste. White and silver is decidedly plain. no comment on ruby. Plenty of LAMP sites that are creative and eye pleasing. Lets take mac.com. Horribly plain and cluttered.

It's the content that matters. Just because you can doesn't mean you have to change the theme, you might not care or have more interesting things to do.
